Yes. It has been over 50 years since alum shale was last mined in Sweden, before the first comprehensive environmental protection law came into force. Since then, both our knowledge has increased, and environmental legislation has been substantially improved. Mining and mineral processing technologies have significantly improved during the last decades, and Sweden is a global leader when it comes to sustainable mining. Before an environmental permit can be granted, further studies and extensive studies will be carried out to ensure sustainable mining and extraction methods
