What is the purpose of the airborne helicopter survey?

Geophysical surveys are standard tools for obtaining information regarding the subsurface. The survey is a non-invasive geophysical survey conducted to map the geological conditions of the bedrock, particularly the presence and thickness of alum shales. This type of shale is of interest from an exploration and mineral resource perspective due to its enrichment of important and critical raw materials such as vanadium, uranium, and rare earth elements. The survey does not involve any ground mineral exploration or mining but is purely data collection from the air. By mapping the bedrock, the survey contributes to both scientific knowledge and future planning for further mineral exploration on the ground.
