Are there examples of places in Sweden where mining has had positive effects?

Yes, there are several. Garpenberg in Dalarna and Zinkgruvan in Örebro are clear examples where mining has created jobs, schools and cultural life. Boliden in Västerbotten has also grown thanks to mining. In these places, mining has been a backbone for the whole community for decades.
