Alum shale contains sulfur, vanadium, uranium, potash, other metals, and rare earth elements in low to moderate concentrations. It’s important to understand that the rock itself occurs naturally, and geophysical surveys do not affect the environmental properties of the bedrock in any way. No drilling or digging is done through geophysical surveying. In the event of drilling, mandatory protective measures are taken to prevent environmental impact and are conducted as stated in the minerals act.
