Garrett Ainsworth

Biography
Garrett Ainsworth is a professional geologist and mining executive with a strong track record in mineral discovery and project development. Over his career, he has been involved in discoveries that have received international industry recognition and has raised more than $300 million in capital.
Before joining District Metals, Garrett was Vice President Exploration & Development at NexGen Energy, where he led the technical team and supported the company’s growth. He previously played a leading role in the discovery of the Triple R uranium deposit at Patterson Lake South.
Garrett has received several industry awards, including the PDAC Bill Dennis Award and the AME Colin Spence Award for his contributions to mineral discovery.
He currently serves as a director of Aero Energy and has held board roles with several exploration companies. Garrett is a Professional Geoscientist (PGeo) and holds a diploma in mining, and degrees in geology and environmental engineering
Hein Raat
Vice President Exploration
Biography
Hein Raat is a professional geologist (EurGeol) with nearly 20 years of experience exploring for base and precious metals across Scandinavia and Europe. He spent eight years with Boliden in Sweden, including several years focused on projects in the Bergslagen mining district.
Over his career, Hein has worked with junior, mid-tier, and major companies, supporting early-stage exploration through target generation, data analysis, permitting, fieldwork, and drilling programmes. He has also worked closely with local stakeholders, making community engagement a core part of his approach.
In addition to his industry experience, Hein worked for the Geological Survey of the Netherlands and advised the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs on the implementation of the EU Critical Raw Materials Act, bringing a broader policy perspective to his work.
He has been involved with District Metals/Bergslagen Metals since 2020 and currently serves as Vice President Exploration. Hein speaks and understands Swedish.
Sandra Löfgren
Consultant
Biography
Sandra Löfgren is a professional geologist (FAMMP) with over 15 years of experience in mineral exploration across Scandinavia.
She is a partner and senior project manager at GeoVista, where she supports exploration and mining companies within geology, permitting, and communication. Her work as a consultant includes strategic planning, target generation, data analysis, fieldwork and supervision of drilling programmes.
Sandra has worked on both greenfield and near-mine projects, including in the northern and Arctic regions. A key part of her role is working closely with landowners and local stakeholders, ensuring that projects are carried out in a clear and structured way.
Her experience combines technical expertise with practical on-the-ground knowledge of how exploration is carried out in Sweden.
